              Materials:  25cm mari wrapped in tan Pearl cotton #5 in 5 shades red, white, dark brown Marking thread in gold metallic Prepare an 8-Combination Division in invisible thread  |

              Add extra marking lines following dotted lines in diagram to
                the left. Point X is 1/4 the length of the side of the square
                formed in the C8 marking. Stitch 2 rows of dark brown and one of
                gold metallic, following points 1, 2, 3; repeat around
                each  6-pt face. Be sure that the stitches are tucked
                snugly into each pole. Stitch mitsubane kikkou on each 6-pt face as shown in diagram, 1 row per face and staying in order for kousa style. First row stitch is placed just over the marking line into adjacent triangle. Use 1 row gold metallic, 2 red, 1 white, 2 red, 1 gold.  |
