Materials: 25 cm circum mari, wrapped in pink Pearl Cotton #5 in maroon and ecru Marking thread in metallic silver Prepare an 8-Combination Division using maroon pearl cotton |
Eight triangles will be formed around the ball. Measure
from a corner of the triangle to the intersection of the marking
threads in the middle of the triangle. Place a pin on the
marking line 2/3 of the distance from the corner of the triangle
to the intersection. Repeat in the other 2 corners of the
triangle. Mark all the triangles in this way. |
|
To make the pattern you will alternate between stitching around all the triangles and then stitching around all of the squares. Begin by stitching 4 rows around the outside of the pins to form a triangle using pearl cotton 814. Stitch each row next to the previous row working away from the center of the triangle. Stitch 4 rows of 814 around the remaining seven triangles. Remove the pins. |
Squares are formed by stitching inside the triangles.
Begin stitching the squares by connecting the corners of four
triangles. Stitch inside the corner as close to the corner
as possible. Stitch 4 rows using ecru around the
square. Stitch each row next to the previous row working
toward the center of the triangle. Stitch 4 rows of ecru around the remaining 5 squares. Stitch 4 rows of 814 around each triangle. Stitch 4 rows of ecru around the squares. Stitch 4 rows of 814 around the triangles. Stitch 6 rows of ecru around the squares. Stitch 4 rows of 814 around the triangles. Finish by stitching 2 rows of ecru around the triangles. |
