Materials: 30 cm circum mari, wrapped in burgundy Stitching threads: Pearl Cotton #5 in medium pink, dark teal; sewing thread to match dark teal Marking thread in to match mari wrap Prepare a 10-Combination Division with invisible marking |
Add extra marking lines as shown in pink dotted lines in
diagram to the left. Continue with invisible marking, using
thread to match mari wrap. The extra jiwari create off-set
pentagons as shown |
|
Stitch over C10 marking lines in the off-set pentagons with teal pearl cotton. Tack at pole with 1 stitch of sewing thread in teal. Using teal pearl cotton, stitch the zig-zag shown in green in diagram to the left. The inner point shown by dot is equidistant from C10 marking lines (A=A) and 1/3 of the distance between off-set pentagon & pole (B=2B). Connect opposite points (dot to dot) around pole using Matsuba kagari with teal pearl cotton by passing thread under the pole to prevent a large buildup of thread. Repeat in each pentagon. |
Stitch along both sides of teal rows with pink pearl cotton as show in diagram to the left, pink lines. Pass threads under the pole to avoid build up. Repeat in each pentagon. | |
In the triangles formed by the extra jiwari at the corners of the C10 pentagons, divide each side (A-B, B-C and C-A) into four equal segments as shown in diagram to the left. Connect the points using double strand of pink pearl cotton. Tack intersections with 3 small stitches of teal pearl cotton. Repeat in each triangle. |
