Locate the sides of the diamond formed by the 8-Combination
division; divide this distance into 1/2 as shown by red pins in
photo to left. |
Using regular marking thread, connect the pins in a cross-hatch manner as shown in photo to left. Repeat in each of the 12 diamonds around the ball. |

Cross-hatching the diamonds will result in the beginning
of the forming of the hexagons; note that they are not
regular. There will be 4 surrounding each of the north and south
poles, and four oriented around the equator. |
Connect the 6-point centers of the hexagons that have been formed as shown. Be sure to bisect the side A-B as shown. Complete dividing all of the hexagons into 12 sections as shown. |
