	Materials: 30.5 cm mari wrapped in medium blue Perle #5: yellow, green, white.     Marking thread: medium gold metallic Prepare a Simple 40 Division marking only with pins

To complete the marking, with gold metallic mark 3 lines/pins, skip the 4th line/pin, etc.  Add an equator, but do not tack. Wrap 5 rounds of yellow on each side of the equator.  Stitch obi kagari as follows: Stitch on each of the first 3 lines, skip the next 3 lines.  Repeat. (Stitch on 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, etc.)

Place pins for first 2 rounds on lines 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, etc, 3cm and 2cm from the obi. Place pins on lines 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, etc. 1.2cm from the pole. Round 1:  Stitch at the 3cm pins and the 1.2 cm pins.  Stitch from 3 to 6 to 9 to 12, etc.  Stitch from 2 to 5 to 8 to 11, etc. Stitch from 1 to 4 to 7 to 10, etc. Round 2:  Repeat Round 1, stitching at the 2 cm pins and just below the previous 1.2 cm stitches. Place pins for rounds 3, 4, 5 on lines 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, etc, 2 cm and 1 cm from the obi. Place pins on lines 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, etc. 1.4 cm from the pole. Round 3:  Stitch at the 2cm pins and the 1.4cm pin.  Stitch from 6 to 9 to 12 to 15, etc.  Stitch from 5 to 8 to 11 to 14, etc.  Stitch from 4 to 7 to 10 to 13, etc. Round 4:  Repeat round 3, stitching at the 1.4cm pins and just below the previous 1.4 cm stitches. Round 5:  Repeat round 3, stitching at the obi and just below the previous 1.4 cm stitches. Place pins for rounds 6 and 7 on lines 2, 8, etc, 2.5 cm and 3 cm from the pole. Place pins on lines 5, 11, etc, 1 cm from the pole. Round 6:  Stitch at the 2.5cm and 1 cm pins.  Stitch from 2 to 5 to 8 to 11, etc. Round 7:  Repeat round 6, stitching at the 3 cm pins and just below the previous 1 cm pins.
